Rules for posting your parks

Before posting your park, please make sure you agree with the following rules and regulations:
  1. Before posting your park, make sure you have at least one screenshot to go along. Please do not post a topic saying "Screenshots coming soon", "First Screenshots coming Monday", etc.
  2. All under construction park threads must be updated at least every 30 days. If your park thread has not had an update in 30 days your topic will be closed and moved to the abandoned park section. If you are ready to update your thread once again please use the PM system to notify a moderator/aisle patrol with a link to the thread stating you wish to have it reopened.
  3. When you have completed your park, post the download in your Park Topic. You may notify a moderator via PM that your park is completed and ready to be moved to the "Completed Parks" forum. The moderators will then move the topic. Please do not repost your final download in the "Completed Parks" forum.
  4. If a member has a negative comment about your park, do your best to accept their criticism in a positive light. Most people are trying to help you make your parks better; take the good/constructive criticism and try to ignore any negative feedback. If you feel that a post is unnecessarily critical or offensive, please PM a moderator/aisle patrol. Do not flame the author in the topic.
  5. Please understand that a staff member has the rights to delete or close your topic if you violate the above rules. If you feel that it should not have been closed or deleted, PM a moderator/aisle patrol and they will look into it.
  6. And remember, have fun!
If you have any questions about the above rules, please reply with your question in this topic.

With Six Flags Xtreme Canada long done, and Paramount Great Excursion in the vault indefinitely, it is time to move forward in my next custom park project: Fox Studios World. To be technical, despite me dubbing this my second park project, it isn't - PGE is. But since I barely started it when I went on hiatus, and here I am with a new project underway, I consider FSW my second park.

As far as I know, there has been no RCT park using the (20th Century) Fox brand, so I consider it the first time it is being done. I have great plans for this park, and can't wait to get deep into its design.

Here are a few details on what I have planned:

Themed Areas:
Star Wars Galaxy - A section of park themed to the original Star Wars trilogy (I am not a fan of the newer trilogy). My planned signature ride will be a flying rollercoaster going through the Death Star trenches much like the climactic moments in Episode 4: A New Hope (the original Star Wars movie).
Thrill Sector - This area of the park will house the bulk of the thrill rides, including my most fondest idea, Behind Enemy Lines, a propelled inverted coaster that is launched off an aircraft carrier runnings its course over the lake and edging the mountainous terrain.
Old Tyme Exposition - A non-movie themed area mainly dedicated to traditional carnival and fairground rides.
Ice Age: The Adventure - My kid's section of park themed to the popular Ice Age computer animated movie and its sequel.

Fox actually has quite a few movie titles that has potential for some good rides. Such titles I am hoping to use include: X-Men, Flight Of The Phoenix, I Robot, Cast Away, Speed, True Lies, Broken Arrow, Aliens, Predator, Die Hard, and more.

I have a few screenshots to show, but they are pretty bare since I just began construction of the park. I created my own website on FreeWebTown to host my own RCT2 site (see the banner/signature below) including all the screenshots, updates, links to each site I post in, etc.

Click on the below link to view the screenshots:

As always, feedback is always appreciated.

On a side note, my first park, Six Flags Xtreme Canada, can be downloaded from my site as well.

Cheers.
TD

That looks good! I like the theatre-idea!

What you now need are a few peep-objects to create an audience.

Are you still working in the scenario-editor, or have you started building the rides?
I`m asking, because you may like to use one or two new custom-rides, that will soon be released, for your star wars area banana-wink.gif

thristydeer, you may want to check out Havingfun's Fun Zone at RCT Revalutions. He has made some Stadium Seats with peeps in them that would work nicely for your theatre.

I have finished with the scenario editor and am now working on the park as a saved game now, but I am still near the beginning in terms of working on it, so if it is something that would be that beneficial to the park, I can start over, or I can convert it to a scenario and do it that way.

The stadium seats objects sounds great, and I will take a look for it. Thanks.

I agree, that is a good use of that path. Ever consider finding the Fox logo and putting it in your park? Or maybe, if you can't find one, just making one out of base blocks? A good place for it would be by the front pathway. Just an idea. It's your park. Also, there is a broken link on your site, where you said that yu were going to post identical updates on all the forums? The RCT*Mart logo isn't showing up.

I am not sure what is going on there. I've gone to the website and it seems to be showing as it should for me. So when you go to the links page the logo doesn't show?

Has anyone else noticed this on my site?

As for the Fox idea, I thought of making a large flowerbed spelling out the word FOX with different colours.

That's funny. I guess that page was down for an hour or two yesterday. It's fine now, but yesterday it had the little "broken link" sign.

The Fox flowerbed idea is a good idea.

Overall, I've had a wide variety of suggestions from the different forums that I post in - so thanks for that, I do take the suggestions objectively.

Thought I'd post a little update - nothing too exciting, but I like to pay attention to detail, and finish off with one area before moving on. I've been working on some details for the private member's section of the park, and also I've been working on the main entrance of the park.

PLEASE CLICK HERE TO VIEW MY SCREENSHOTS

For the "main entrance" screenshot, it is by far incomplete, but I wanted to post my progress with it at this point as I'd like to seek out some advice as to the best way of spicing it up, particularly around the bridge over the water portion. As you may have noticed, I did make some relatively minor changes to the patio side of the as of yet unnamed restaurant, including reworking the waterfall... but I wonder what else I can do with it. At the bottom of that screenshot is a souvenir shop. Inside of it are numerous different souvenir stalls.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

It's coming along smoothly, I see. Always good to see someone who is good at making buildings, my weak point. I take it the monorail is not complete, but is that it's color scheme?
